In Loving Memory of Mary Muse
It is with profound sadness that we share the news that Mary Muse, the former Executive Director of the Kerrville Folk Festival, passed away on January 23rd at 6:30pm from complications of breast cancer.
Her beloved husband, Bill Muse, whom she met at the festival in 1992, was at her side. Over the past few weeks, Mary has been surrounded by a near-constant stream of friends, loved ones, and music.
Mary was the first Executive Director of Kerrville Folk Festival Foundation and served for 8 years, during which time she navigated the challenges of the Covid pandemic and ensured the survival of our beloved Festival. Her passion for music, her capacity to hold a loving space for all she encountered, and her commitment to and love for the Festival was unsurpassed. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Welcome Home, Mary

54 Years of MUSIC SINCE 1972
The Kerrville Folk Festival was founded by the late Rod Kennedy in 1972. For 18 straight days and nights, the Festival offers concerts and activities for all ages that are focused on nurturing and developing artistic expression, especially the art of songwriting. Our mission is to promote public appreciation and support for songwriters, the songwriting craft, and the gift folk music offers the world.

Made Possible By A family of Volunteers
A powerful community formed amongst festival attendees and ultimately became the member-based non-profit called the Kerville Folk Festival Foundation. Becoming a member of the Foundation declares you are part of this on-going community.
