Carol Elliott is a remarkable story. Originally from Atlanta, she’s spent 30 years in the music industry as a songwriter and performing artist, as well as record company exec on Music Row in Nashville. Her list of credentials are impressive, ranging from street performer in San Francisco to working with top artists in Nashville such as Dolly Parton and Garth Brooks. She and Wendy Waldman won the prestigious Wrangler Award from the National Cowboy Hall of Fame for their song Corn, Water and Wood, recorded by Michael Martin Murphy on “Cowboy Christmas.” It’s also been recorded by Ronnie Cox, Riders In The Sky, Bryndle, and others. A finalist in the Kerrville Folk Festival songwriter competition, Elliott was invited back many times to perform main stage, as well as two Women of Kerrville tours with–Eliza Gilkyson, Tish Hinojosa, Catie Curtis, Christine Albert and Alisa Fineman. She even received compliments from a former Poet Laureate of the United States, Howard Nemerov, who said, “If I could sing like that, I wouldn’t bother with poetry.” Carol had much success in Europe, appearing on Geld Oder Lieber (Money or Love) in Germany to millions of people and selling tens of thousands of CD’s. She has five studio recordings of her original material recorded in Nashville.
