Quiet Valley Homecoming is a laid-back fall campout at Quiet Valley Ranch, taking place October 23–25, with camping available through noon on Monday, October 26.
This is not a traditional music festival. There will not be a full festival-style lineup or formal programming schedule. Instead, we’re inviting the Kerrville community to return to the Ranch, settle in for the weekend, gather around campfires, and help shape the experience together.
We know our friends are pretty darn good at entertaining themselves and each other, so camps are encouraged to host their own gatherings throughout the weekend. That might be a hoot night, song circle, art demonstration, shared meal, storytelling hour, morning stretch, craft project, or whatever bit of Kerrville magic your camp would like to offer. Camps interested in hosting an activity can let us know, and we’ll add it to the list of community-led events.
We’ll also have a few surprises in store, with more details coming soon.
One thing we can share now: the Quiet Valley Ranch Chili Cookoff will take place on Saturday, with separate Meat Chili and Vegetarian Chili categories. Registration information, competition rules, prizes, and the full schedule are available on our Chili Cookoff page.
Weekend passes are $35 per person when purchased online or $40 per person at the gate. Passes include admission for the entire weekend through noon on Monday, October 26. This modest impact fee helps cover the basic costs of welcoming everyone back to the Ranch, including dumpsters, portable toilets, water, electricity, and other event-related expenses.

Is Quiet Valley Homecoming a festival?
No. Quiet Valley Homecoming is a campout, not a traditional festival. We will not have a full music lineup or the usual festival programming structure. Think of it as a relaxed fall weekend at the Ranch with campfires, community-led gatherings, a few hosted activities, and plenty of room for folks to make their own fun.
Will you be selling individual day tickets?
No. Weekend passes are $35 if purchased online and are good for the whole weekend. If you’d like to come for just one day it is still $35 per person online or $40 at the gate.
What does the $35 fee cover?
The $35 weekend pass is a small impact fee that helps cover the costs of having people on the Ranch, including dumpsters, potties, water and electric use, and other basic site expenses.
DO WE HAVE TO PAY THE ENTRY FEE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CHILI COOKOFF?
Yes. The Chili Cookoff will be held inside the event and each person entering the event must pay the $35 entry fee.
How much are tickets for kids?
As with all Kerrville Folk Festival Foundation events, kids 12 and under are free. Tickets for teens ages 13-17 will be available for purchase by a parent or guardian at the gate for half price ($20). Minor children under 18 years old are not permitted entry without a parent or guardian.
Will there be volunteer shifts?
We do not expect to need a full volunteer staff for this event, but we may need a few helping hands. We encourage any volunteers who are able to purchase a weekend pass to please do so. Come out, relax, and enjoy the Ranch without having to clock in for a shift.
Can I park my car in the campground?
At this time, we are not anticipating a large enough number of attendees to worry about cars in the campground. If this changes we will let you know well in advance.
How much are electric permits?
Basic electricity for running lights, fans, charging devices, etc. is included in the impact fee. If you are using a 30amp plug or running electricity, we ask that you make a suggested donation of $20 at the office while you are here.
Can I use an RV Site?
If you would like to be assigned one of our reserved RV sites, please join the RV waitlist on our ticket portal. We are only charging $20 for the weekend to use an RV Site to offset the cost of electricity.
When is the earliest I can arrive?
Please do not arrive on the ranch before noon on Thursday, October 22, 2026. We will be hosting a little birthday party for Polekat that evening.
Can my camp host an event?
Yes, please! Camps are encouraged to host their own gatherings, activities, and creative offerings. This could be a song circle, hoot night, art demonstration, shared meal, craft activity, storytelling session, or anything else that feels right for your camp. Let us know what you’re planning, and we’ll list community-led events on this page. Threadgill Theater is not available for camp-led events.
