An Update on Our Flood Relief Efforts:
Over the past two weeks, our team at Quiet Valley Ranch has been honored to provide thousands of chef-prepared meals, cold drinks, and essential supplies to those working on the front lines of the July 4th flood recovery. From displaced families to the crews mucking out homes and clearing debris—we’ve witnessed the incredible strength and compassion of this community.
This week, we’ve taken time to assess the changing landscape of need. While the damage—especially in Hunt—is still significant, the urgency of immediate relief has begun to ease. Many families are now shifting from emergency cleanup to rebuilding and recovery.
As a result, we’ve ramped down our meal delivery operations from the Ranch. Our Amazon wishlist and weekly volunteer sign-up forms have also been retired for now. However:
Displaced individuals and unpaid volunteers are still welcome to stay at Quiet Valley Ranch. Camping fees will continue to be waived for those offering their time or in need of a safe place to land.
We will continue sharing local volunteer opportunities as we hear about them. If you’re leading a cleanup crew and need extra hands, please email us at media@kerrvillefolkfestival.org so we can help spread the word.
Our Flood Relief Fund is still active and accepting donations. The Kerrville Folk Festival Foundation Board, along with our Executive Director Deb Rouse, is meeting to determine how these funds can be allocated responsibly and effectively to meet ongoing needs in the community.
We’re deeply grateful to everyone who has stepped up to help—whether you’ve donated, cooked, hauled, swept, or simply checked in on a neighbor. The road ahead is long, but together, we are moving forward with heart.
