Folk Alliance International is an arts non-profit designed to connect folk music leaders and enthusiasts who aim to sustain the community and genre.  The annual FAI Conference is the world’s largest gathering of the folk music community and industry that crosses a diverse array of folk music genres. We are delighted to announce that this year FAI will recreate their inspiring conference model by providing virtual meeting places to reconnect, discover new music, and strengthen community among folk musicians, industry, and fans alike.

"Folk Unlocked" is a four-day virtual event Feb 22-26, 2021 designed for the entire international folk music community to come together for showcase concerts, workshops, exhibit spaces, networking, and more. In order for Folk Unlocked to be an event accessible to all, they’ve built in a pay-what-you’re-able pricing structure.

Kerrville Folk Festival will host an exhibit hall information booth, as well as a concert showcase that features past KFF and New Folk artists. This year you can enjoy it virtually, from the comfort of your own home! We hope you join us - below are the details on how:

Registration for FAI's Folk Unlocked includes access to all the virtual features including panels, workshops, showcases, affinity and peer group meetings, exhibit spaces, networking, and mentorship opportunities.  In order for Folk Unlocked be an event accessible to all, they’ve built a pay-what-you’re-able pricing structure. This is a great opportunity for artists and industry folks to explore the magic of FAI from the comfort and safety of your own home. Programming will be interactive, whether live-streamed or pre-recorded, and recordings will be available for later viewing, allowing folks from around the globe to tune in when they can.  Click here for the REGISTRATION PAGE.

Public access to the Folk Unlocked Showcases is available in one easy-to-use virtual platform so folk fans can enjoy over 800 hours of virtual performances from the musicians they love, while discovering new artists from a lineup of global talent.  Access to the event is a $20 suggested donation to The Village Fund, a grant program administered by Folk Alliance International for folk artists and independent music industry professionals experiencing financial hardship. There are hundreds of showcases to enjoy!
