By the end of the first day of this workshop, you’ll be able to:

Play three chords
Play one strumming pattern
Slowly but surely, play a song.

Then you’ll be able to return for a second day to review what you’ve learned and add a few more chords and a song to your brand new guitar playing tool box.

Janet has been teaching music to people of all ages since the 1980s and so has decades of anecdotal evidence that everyone who wants to, can learn how to play the guitar.

What if it were possible that if your favorite songs had barre chords in them it wouldn't give you an anxiety attack? Or with some simple, easy to understand information you could learn to play just about any chord you wanted on the guitar?

In this workshop, you’ll have your first coffee date with barre chords playing songs like She’s A Rebel (Green Day), Trouble In The Fields (Nanci Griffith), and Tangled Up In Blue (Bob Dylan).

Hey Kerrverts 😃

So here's the thing: if you come to one of my workshops at The Kerrville Folk Festival, the worst thing that will happen is that your playing will sound like........ you're learning. My friend Ksenia Mack always tells her students, "Don't worry, you'll never sound this bad again." LOL

You have great taste in music and know what excellent guitar playing sounds like, so it's clear when you don't sound like that yet. For many of us, that keeps us from ever getting started playing or from continuing to learn. One of things I've heard from students over the years is that they really appreciate learning in a group setting because when they make mistakes, they're drowned out by the rest of the class. I've heard this from people who are beginners, but also from more advanced students.

If you're like many of my students, you don't want a professional career in music but you'd like to be good at it. So which would you rather deal with: creating a cacophony of guitar sound with your classmates while having a blast or spending another year wishing you could play?
